Southern Utah University landed 23-year old Swedish 6-1 guard Felix Lemetti for new season. Lemetti is the second foreign player in the roster as Australian Deng Dut signed here earlier.
He comes from University of Nebraska at Omaha where he played only for one year. In 30 games he averaged 10.4ppg, 3.8rpg and 3.1apg.
He played also at KFUM Fryshuset Basket in 2016-2018, AIK Basket Solna in 2019-2020 and then at Salt Lake Community College in 2020. His team won Swedish BasketEttan Group North Regular Season and Swedish BasketEttan Championships and he was also voted to All-Swedish BasketEttan First Team that year. He was also selected to All-Swedish BasketEttan Honorable Mention in 2017. Lemetti was voted to All-Swedish Superettan Honorable Mention in 2020.
He graduated Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL) in 2016.
Lemetti represented Sweden at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 Division B in Matosinhos (Portugal) three years ago. His stats at that event were 8 games: 9.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.0apg, 1.0spg, FGP: 21.4%, 3PT: 42.0%, FT: 62.5%.
Among many awards his team won European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U18 in Samsun (Turkey) in 2020. Mavericks also also won European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U18 Division B in Tallinn (Estonia) in 2020. His team also won European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 Division B in Matosinhos (Portugal) in 2020. Lemetti’s team ended regular season as a second best place in SWAC and he helped Omaha team make it to the NJCAA D1 Rocky Mountain District Finals and NJCAA D1 Region XVIII Finals in 2021.
