Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion (National League) signed 23-year old American forward DJ Burns (201cm-100kg-2001, college: YSU, agency: Players Group). Burns already started the season at Sigal Prishtina in Kosovan Superliga. In 11 games he had very impressive stats: 16.2ppg, 13.3rpg, 2.3apg and 1.7spg. He helped them to make it to the Supercup final. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week (3 times).
Burns graduated from Youngstown State University in 2024 and it is his first season as a professional player. His team was regular season runner-up in Horizon League in 2024. He was voted to Horizon League All-Defensive Team in 2024. Burns played for other colleges like: Murray State University, Southern University.
