American Josh Angle (191-G-2000) put on an amazing game in the last round for league’s leader Beselidhja Lezhe and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 24-year old guard had the game-high 30 points adding five rebounds for Beselidhja in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Kamza (#3, 3-4) 88-78. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. It allowed Beselidhja to consolidate first place in the Albanian Superliga. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Beselidhja still have not lost a single game, getting all 7 victories. In the team’s last game Angle had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Beselidhja‘s top player in his first season with the team. Josh Angle averages this season 14.4ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American point guard Antwaan Cushingberry (173-PG-1999) of Kamza Basket Tirana. Cushingberry impressed basketball fans with 26 points and 7 assists. Bad luck as Kamza lost that game 78-88 to league’s leader Beselidhja (#1, 7-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kamza still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 3-4 record. Cushingberry is a newcomer at Kamza and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Kamza’s star – American Elijah Nnanabu (190-G). Nnanabu scored 26 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Despite Nnanabu’s great performance the Kamza Basket Tirana lost 78-88 to #1 ranked Beselidhja. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Kamza ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Nnanabu could help Kamza to bring them higher in the standings. Nnanabu has a great season in Albania. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 22.7ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 8.3rpg (7th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
