Dans Galdins
17-year old guard Dans Galdins (194-G-2004) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league’s best team Riga/DSN and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8 (Second Stage).
He had the game-high 31 points adding five rebounds for Riga/DSN in his team’s victory, helping them to crush Gulbene (#7, 3-11) with 25-point margin 91-66. It allowed Riga/DSN to consolidate first place in the Latvian league. Riga/DSN have a solid 12-2 record. In the team’s last game Galdins had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Riga/DSN’s top player in his first season with the team. Dans Galdins averages this season 15.6ppg and 5.8rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Roberts Jonins (197-F) of West top-ranked Riga/Pard. 2. He is a forward in his first season at Riga/Pard. 2. In the last game Jonins recorded impressive double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led Riga/Pard. 2 to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Saldus (#7, 2-10) 94-56. Of course Riga/Pard. 2 still keep the league’s top spot. His team lost just one game this Second Stage, while they won 5 matches. Jonins is a newcomer at Riga/Pard. 2 and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to another Riga/Pard. 2’s star – forward Rudolfs Pastors (195-F). Pastors got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for nineteen rebounds . He was another key player of Riga/Pard. 2, helping his team with a 79-61 easy win against the lower-ranked Liepaja (#5, 6-7). Riga/Pard. 2 confirms their top position in the standings. Pastors has a great season in Latvia. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 22.7ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 11.2rpg (4th best). He also has 4.2spg and FGP: 63.8%.
