The most exciting game of round 10 in the ABA League took place in Beograd. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked UAE Dubai (7-3) to eleventh ranked Serbian FMP BG (5-5) 86-84 on Friday evening. FMP BG made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Dubai helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian point guard Matic Rebec (183-1995, agency: SLN) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Swingman Stefan Lazarevic (198-1996) contributed with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Slovenian Klemen Prepelic (191-1992) replied with 19 points and 4 assists for Dubai. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. FMP BG moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Mega BG. Dubai at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. FMP BG is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Mornar (#16) in Bar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dubai will play at home against Zadar (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
One of the most interesting games of round 10 was a derby match between two teams from Serbia. The game took place in Subotica where second ranked Crvena zvezda won against host Spartak (6-4) 94-87. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Spartak. American-Bulgarian point guard Codi Miller-McIntyre (191-1994, college: Wake Forest) had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Ognjen Dobric chipped in 19 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. At the losing side center Dusan Miletic (213-1998) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Crvena zvezda (8-2) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending Serbian champion maintains second position having just two points less than leader Partizan, which they share with Buducnost. Spartak at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Igokea. Crvena zvezda will play against Cibona (#15) in Zagreb in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Spartak will play on the road against Cedevita Ol. (#11) in Ljubljana and hopes to get back on the winning track.
ABA League top team – Serbian Partizan (10-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Croatian Split (4-6) in Beograd 110-64. Duane Washington Jr notched 24 points and 5 assists to lead the effort. Partizan’s coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by David Skara did not help to save the game for Split. Undefeated Partizan have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Loser Split keeps the ninth place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Partizan will meet Igokea (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Split will play against Krka and hope to secure a win.
Other games in round 10 were not that significant. Mega BG beat Zadar on the road 68-65. Borac lost to Slovenian defending champion Cedevita Ol. on its own court 74-94. Cibona unfortunately lost to Buducnost in Podgorica 77-88. Derby lost to Bosnian defending champion Igokea at home 97-105. Bottom-ranked Mornar was defeated by Krka on the opponent’s court 90-103.
Zadar – Mega BG 65-68
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Serbian Mega BG and 9th ranked Croatian Zadar had identical 4-5 record. But Zadar was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Beograd 68-65 on Monday night. Forward Bogoljub Markovic (210-2005) notched 18 points to lead the effort and Bosnian guard Kosta Kondic (193-2001) supported him with 14 points. Even a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American forward Tyler Wahl (206-2001, college: Wisconsin) did not help to save the game for Zadar. Bosnian swingman Amar Gegic (200-1998, agency: Octagon Europe) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Mega BG (5-5) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with FMP BG. Defending Croatian champion Zadar keeps the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Mega BG will meet at home Borac (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. Zadar will play against Dubai (#4) and hope to secure a win.

Everything could happen in Cacak at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Slovenian Cedevita Ol. and 12th ranked Serbian Borac had identical 3-6 record. But Borac was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Ljubljana 94-74 on Saturday night. Cedevita Ol. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Borac CA‘s 36. Cedevita Ol. had a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Bosnian-Croatian center Andrija Stipanovic (207-1986) notched 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American point guard DeVante Jones (182-1998, college: Michigan) supported him with 9 points and 7 assists. Even 12 points by center Marko Pavicevic (209-2002) did not help to save the game for Borac. American point guard Diante Baldwin (182-1994, college: UNCG) added 12 points for lost side. Defending Slovenian champion (4-6) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Borac lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Very predictable result when third ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (8-2) won against 15th ranked Croatian Cibona (2-8) in Podgorica 88-77 on Monday. Buducnost made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game, while Cibona only scored eight points from the stripe. Bosnian center Kenan Kamenjas (207-2000) notched 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Serbian power forward Nikola Tanaskovic (204-1997) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Even 17 points by Luka Skoric (204-2003, agency: AltusBasket) did not help to save the game for Cibona. Igokea shot 62.1 percent from the field and made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Bryce Jones (183-1994, college: Murray St.) notched 31 points and 9 assists to lead the effort and the other American import center Terrell Carter II (208-1996, college: Fresno St.) supported him with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 18 points and 7 assists by American point guard Erick Neal (178-1995, college: UT Arlington) did not help to save the game for Derby. Guard Luka Bogavac (195-2003) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
