First defeat of league’s leader M.Rehovot (5-1) against eighth ranked E.Ashkelon (3-3) 100-95 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of M.Rehovot. E.Ashkelon made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American Darrell Davis (196-1996, college: Dayton) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Guard Daniel Najar (193-2001) contributed with 25 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Kevin Capers (188-1993, college: FSC, agency: Inception Sports) answered with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for M.Rehovot. M.Rehovot’s coach Kobi Hasson tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. E.Ashkelon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with I.Nahariya and H.Eilat. M.Rehovot at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Ramat Hash.. They were replaced at the leadership position by M.Raanana. M.Rehovot will play next round against strong Ramat Hash. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. E.Ashkelon will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked H.Eilat on the road.

It was a great evening for American Jimmy Hall (203-1994, college: Kent St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. Efi Tyomkin helped adding 13 points and 7 assists. At the losing side American Daniel Oladapo (203-2000, college: NCCU) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. M.Raanana (6-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Otef Darom at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Otef Darom will play next round against M.Rishon trying to get back on the winning streak. M.Raanana will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked E.Yavne at Yavne.
An interesting game for Ramat Hash. (5-1) which played road game in Yavne against 4th placed E.Yavne (4-3). Third ranked Ramat Hash. managed to get a 8-point victory 109-101. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of E.Yavne. It was an exceptional evening for Akaemji Williams who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals. Eli Abaev came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for E.Yavne in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ramat Hash. moved-up to second place, which they share with M.Rehovot. Newly promoted E.Yavne keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with H.Kfar Saba. Ramat Hash. will meet at home league’s second-placed M.Rehovot in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. E.Yavne will play against the league’s leader M.Raanana and hope to secure a win.
Other games in round 7 were not that significant. H.Izrael was beaten by H.Kfar Qasem on the road 74-72. I.Nahariya won against H.Eilat on its own court 83-70. H.Safed Galil managed to outperform M.Rishon in a road game 76-70. H.Kfar Saba managed to beat E.Shomron at home 88-81.
H.Kfar Qasem – H.Izrael 74-72
There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked H.Kfar Qasem (2-4) edged at home higher ranked H.Izrael (2-3) 74-72 on Tuesday. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American point guard Paul Delaney (188-1986, college: UAB) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Markeese Hastings (201-2000, college: RMU) accounted for 18 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winning side. American forward De’Sean Parsons (201-1995, college: Portland St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 19 rebounds and the other American import Kevin Bracy-Davis (202-1995, college: Davis & Elkins) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for H.Izrael in the defeat. Four H.Izrael players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. H.Kfar Qasem moved-up to tenth place. H.Izrael lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. H.Kfar Qasem will meet E.Shomron (#13) on the road in the next round. H.Izrael will play against I.Nahariya (#6) and hope to secure a win.

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Hapoel Eilat (3-3) lost on the road to ninth ranked I.Nahariya (3-3) 83-70 on Thursday. Strangely H.Eilat outrebounded I.Nahariya 53-39 including a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Marvin Smith (198-1995, college: UNCG) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. American-Nigerian center Temidayo Yussuf (201-1996, college: LBSU, agency: Slash Sports) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American center Brandon Huffman (208-1998, college: Jax State, agency: BIG) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Dirk Williams (195-1994, college: UAB) added 13 points and 15 rebounds respectively for H.Eilat in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. I.Nahariya moved-up to sixth place, which they share with E.Ashkelon and H.Eilat. There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked H.Safed Galil (1-2) won against 11th ranked M.Rishon (1-3) in Rishon Le-Zion 76-70 on Thursday. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Omer El-Al (182-1994) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Dachon Burke (193-1997, college: USA) accounted for 23 points and 4 steals for the winning side. American point guard Keron DeShields (190-1992, college: Tennessee St., agency: Diamond Sports) came up with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized American forward Josh Freund (204-1997, college: Roanoke) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for M.Rishon in the defeat. Four M.Rishon players scored in double figures. M.Rishon’s coach Sharon Drucker let to play ten players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. H.Safed Galil left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. Loser M.Rishon dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. H.Safed Galil will meet at home higher ranked H.Kfar Saba (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. M.Rishon will play against Otef Darom (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

American Isaiah Crawley (201-1998, college: Georgia South) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Zachary Simmons (205-1999, college: N.Texas) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for E.Shomron in the defeat.
