Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi Spor Mersin (BSL) agreed terms with experienced 34-year old center Deniz Kilicli (206cm-118kg-1990, college: WVU). Kilicli already started the season at Ankaragucu in the TBL. In 11 games he had 7.5ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.2apg.
He has spent his entire career in Turkey playing for six other teams: Efes, Pinar Karsiyaka, Trabzonspor, Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi, Buyukcekmece and Bahcesehir. Kilicli played in the final of Turkish League in 2015 and 2023.
He graduated from West Virginia University in 2013 and it is his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
On Kilicli:
A 6-9 power forward and post player with a mean streak, in the Scola type. Kilicli also possesses some finesse with his mid-range jumper and and posty move, but his best are rebounding skills, physical mentality and deceptive athleticism. Defends yet very well for his age.
