The most exciting game of round 7 in the Liga Endesa took place in Lugo. Tyler Kalinoski accounted for 13 points. Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-1987, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Joventut in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Unicaja maintains first place with 6-1 record. Joventut at the other side dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Unicaja will play against Andorra (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Joventut will play against Bilbao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Madrid was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Gran Canaria (4-3) played at the court of sixth ranked Real Madrid (5-2). Real Madrid managed to secure a 6-point victory 83-77 on Sunday. Facundo Campazzo fired 20 points and 9 assists for the winners. Nicolas Brussino produced 17 points for lost side. Gran Canaria’s coach Jaka Lakovic rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn’t help. Real Madrid have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Loser Gran Canaria keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Real Madrid will meet at home Lleida (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria will play against Girona (#16) and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Granada lost to Manresa on the opponent’s court 86-93. Andorra unfortunately lost to Murcia in a home game 71-83. Bilbao recorded a loss to Girona on the road 94-100. Baskonia defeated Lleida on its own court 100-99. Tenerife smashed Coruna in a road game 87-62. Rio Breogan won against Barca at home 77-70.


Manresa – Granada 93-86

Very expected game when 17th ranked Coviran Granada (1-6) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked BAXI Manresa (4-3) 93-86 on Saturday. Manresa outrebounded Granada 41-28 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American Derrick Alston Jr (206-1997, college: Boise St.) fired 22 points for the winners. His fellow American import point guard Cameron Hunt (192-1997, college: Southwestern, KS) chipped in 19 points. French Amine Noua (202-1997) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and Kosovan-American Scott Bamforth (188-1989, college: Weber St.) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Four Granada players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Manresa moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams.
