After 7 rounds played we can already see who rules in the Euroleague and who belongs to weaker ones. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game of round 7 in the Euroleague took place in Kaunas. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked French Monaco (4-3) to first ranked Lithuanian Zalgiris (6-1) 63-62 on Friday evening. It was a great evening for Arnas Butkevicius (197-1992) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points. Canadian-Lithuanian swingman Ignas Brazdeikis (201-1999, college: Michigan) helped adding 7 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American Jordan Loyd (193-1993, college: Indianapolis) responded with 18 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zalgiris have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Defending French champion Monaco dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Zalgiris are looking forward to face Bayern (#5) in Muenchen in the next round. Monaco will play on the road against Anadolu Efes in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was an exceptional evening for Spanish Nikola Mirotic (208-1991) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Fabien Causeur accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. Georgian Tornike Shengelia (206-1991, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 25 points for Virtus in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Italian champion (2-5) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Partizan and ASVEL. Virtus at the other side dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with ALBA. Milano will play against higher ranked Real Madrid (#11) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Virtus will play against M.Tel-Aviv (#12) to get more than just one victory in their record.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Anadolu Efes won against ALBA on the opponent’s court 86-70. M.Tel-Aviv managed to outperform Real Madrid in a home game 79-78. Partizan recorded a loss to Fenerbahce on the road 89-72. Crvena zvezda lost to Greek defending champion Panathinaikos on its own court 77-81. Bayern beat ASVEL in Muenchen 84-71. Paris won against Baskonia at home 67-65.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 19 points and 12 rebounds by Chima Moneke of Baskonia.
ALBA – Anadolu Efes 70-86
Very expected game when 18th ranked German ALBA Berlin (1-6) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Turkish Efes (4-3) 86-70 on Thursday. Anadolu Efes made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Nigerian-American forward Jordan Nwora (203-1998, college: Louisville) fired 16 points for the winners. American center Daniel Oturu (208-1999, college: Minnesota) chipped in 16 points. Four Efes players scored in double figures. M.Tel-Aviv made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. M.Tel-Aviv outrebounded Real Madrid 40-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for M.Tel-Aviv especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Lithuanian point guard Rokas Jokubaitis (193-2000) fired 17 points and 7 assists for the winners. American point guard Saben Lee (188-1999, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 19 points.
