Vlci Zdar – Pardubice 79-82

No shocking result in a game when Synthesia (3-2) edged on the road Vlci Zdar (0-6) 82-79 on Sunday. Pardubice dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Vlci Zdar‘s 28. Pardubice forced 23 Vlci Zdar turnovers. It was a great evening for Slovakian point guard Filip Horvath (188-2007) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Hugo Lejsek (186) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Synthesia players scored in double figures. Synthesia’s coach Dusan Pandula used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Ondrej Coufal (164-2006) with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Matej Danko (185-2006) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Synthesia will meet at home Opava in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vlci Zdar will play against GBA Lions (#1) in J.Hradec and hopes to get finally their first victory.

GBA Lions – Opava 87-62

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Opava (5-1) in J.Hradec on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Hradec (6-0) 87-62. GBA Lions held Opava to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.6 percent accuracy of the winners. GBA Lions forced 20 Opava turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when GBA Lions made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian point guard Ivaylo Skrinski (191-2007, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 24 points and 4 steals. Brazilian point guard Nolan Kemm (193-2007) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hradec players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Pavel Czudek (161-2006) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward David Motycka (203-2006) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hradec is looking forward to face Vlci Zdar (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Opava will play against Pardubice (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
