Balikesir Buyuksehir Belediyespor (TBL) signed 26-year old American guard Alonzo Verge Jr (190cm-76kg-1998, college: Nebraska, agency: Octagon Europe). Verge Jr was tested by Yalovaspor in BSL. He helped his team get promotion to BSL, but was not approved after all. TBL will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
Verge Jr is quite experienced player. He has played in five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Verge Jr has played previously professionally in Greece (Apollon Patras), Kosovo (Ylli), Poland (MKS), Qatar (Al Rayyan) and The Basketball Tournament (Sideline Cancer). He played in the final of Kosovo League in 2024. Verge Jr was voted to Eurobasket.com Kosovo League All-Imports Team in 2024.
He graduated from University of Nebraska in 2022 and it is his third season as a professional player. Verge Jr played for other colleges like: Arizona State University, Moberly Area Community College.
