There were only 2 rounds played so far and it’s still very beginning of the Regular Season in Segunda FEB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The biggest surprise of round 2 in Segunda FEB took place in Lliria where host Lliria crushed Mataro UE 89-54 on Saturday evening. Lliria dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Mataro UE‘s 26. They outrebounded Mataro UE 49-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lliria looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Mataro UE‘s players. The best player for the winners was Zambian center Douglas Kandulu (220-1996) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Power forward Alejandro Rivas (203-1998) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Jordi Juanola (196-1998) produced 15 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mataro UE will play next round against Sol Girones trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Lliria will try to continue on its current victory against Salou on the road.
Caceres defeated Caja 87 at home 80-68. Power forward Ruben Salas (207-2003) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Jubril Adekoya contributed with 17 points for the winners. American swingman Nolan Bertain (193-1998, college: Idaho) replied with 19 points for Caja 87. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caja 87 will play next round against Iraurgi SB trying to get back on the winning streak. Caceres will try to continue on its current victory against La Leonesa on the road.

Rest of the games of round 2 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Gran Canaria 2 defeated Gandia in Las Palmas 70-56. Palma Fibwi smashed Salou at home 88-55. Palma BM destroyed Sol Girones on the opponent’s court 91-61. Prat managed to outperform Tarragona in a home game 91-74. Benicarlo managed to beat Godella on the road 84-83. Huelva CD defeated Iraurgi SB on its own court 83-78. Zornotza was beaten by Clavijo in Logrono 68-67. Archena lost to undefeated Cordoba CB at home 45-54. Winless Albacete unfortunately lost to Ponferrada on the opponent’s court 60-65. Winless Algeciras lost to undefeated Melilla in a home game 74-83. La Leonesa defeated Huesca on the road 68-61.



Group A

Sant Antoni – Santfeliuenc 86-64

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Santfeliuenc in San Antonio on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Sant Antoni 86-64. Sant Antoni dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Santfeliuenc‘s 26. They outrebounded Santfeliuenc 43-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. Sant Antoni looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists.
