Experienced Evgeny Karpeko (204-F-1989, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) put on an amazing game in the last round for league’s leader Dinamo Vladivostok and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Superleague 1 Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 35-year old forward had the game-high 19 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Dinamo V. in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Metallurg MGN (#15, 0-2), the league’s bottom-ranked team 76-69. It allowed Dinamo to jump to the first place in the Russian Superleague 1. But it’s just the very beginning of the season and Dinamo won both games without losing any. It’s too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team’s last game Karpeko had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at Dinamo and it’s hard to imagine this team without him.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young Nikita Remizov (198-SF-2000) of Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Remizov impressed basketball fans with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Metallurg MGN lost that game 69-76 to Dinamo V. (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let’s wait for the next round. Remizov is a newcomer at Metallurg MGN and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.5ppg (#3). He also registered 4.5 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was Daniil Aksenov (183-F/G-1995) of Zenit Saint Petersburg 2nd team (#5). Aksenov scored 25 points. He was a key player of Zenit-2, leading his team to a 80-69 win against Barnaul (#8, 1-1). Zenit-2 has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it’s too early to judge them at this stage. Aksenov also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Aksenov has a great season in Russia. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 24.5ppg (best scorer).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
