This is still too early stage of the Regular Season in Serie B Nazionale and we should expect many changes in upcoming rounds. The round was exceptionally exciting as four games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Faenza defeated Treviglio at home 79-67. Faenza looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-1988) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Lorenzo Calbini (185-2003) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-1990, college: DePaul) answered with 6 points and 14 rebounds for Treviglio. Treviglio’s coach Davide Villa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Treviglio will play next round against strong Legnano trying to get back on the winning streak. Faenza will try to continue on its current victory against Lumezzane on the road.
Monferrato (1-1) recorded a loss in Casale. Hosts were defeated by San Vendemiano (1-2) 90-82. It was a great evening for Latvian Kristaps Gluditis (190-1995) who led his team to a victory scoring 43 points (!!!) and 5 assists. Tommaso Oxilia helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (214-1990) with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Monferrato’s coach Fabio Corbani tested ten players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. San Vendemiano will play against Omegna (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monferrato will play against Crema to get more than just one victory in their record.
Very important is a home loss of Chieti (2-1) against Sant Antimo (1-2) on Sunday night. Host Chieti was defeated by Sant Antimo in a tough game in Chieti 72-81. It was an exceptional evening for Marshall Nelson who led the winners and scored 25 points and 5 assists. Thomas Van Ounsem came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds for Chieti in the defeat. Chieti’s coach Lino Lardo let to play ten players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. Sant Antimo will meet Chiusi (#12) on the road in the next round. Chieti will play against Montecatini (#3) and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 3: winless Piacenza was smashed by Imola Virtus on the road 103-82. Legnano destroyed Vicenza on its own court 82-63. Fiorenzuola unfortunately lost to Omegna in a road game 70-75. Agrigento lost to Desio at home 73-77. Lumezzane defeated Ragusa on the opponent’s court 83-71. Saronno lost to undefeated Orlandina in a home game 88-89. Crema was destroyed by Fidenza on the road 76-95. Imola ACosta unfortunately lost to Mestre on its own court 94-97. Caserta Pap. lost to Fabo Herons in Montecatini 56-64. Piombino defeated Ravenna at home 68-63. San Severo was smashed by RO Virtus 1960 on the opponent’s court 102-54. Roseto destroyed Rieti in a home game 109-73. Montecatini managed to outperform Cassino on the road 89-72. Ruvo di Puglia recorded a loss to Fabriano on its own court 65-83. Jesi lost to Salerno in a road game 80-81. Latina beat Luiss Roma at home 77-59. Chiusi lost to undefeated Livorno Pielle on the opponent’s court 67-87.
The most impressive performance of 3rd round was 12 points by Janko Cepic of Livorno Pielle.



Group A

Imola Virtus – Piacenza 103-82

No shocking result in a game when Imola Virtus (2-1) crushed at home Piacenza (0-3) 103-82 on Saturday. Imola Virtus made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Nigerian Simon Obinna (204-2001) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field).
