MBA-2 smashed Uralmash-2 in Moscow 76-57. MBA-2 made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Uralmash-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 51-33 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when MBA-2 made 7 blocks. Klim Adaykin (195-2005) fired 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Matvey Padius (194-2006) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Matvey Reshetov (178-2005) produced 12 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Uralmash-2 will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. MBA-2 will try to continue on its current victory against Uralmash-2 in Yekaterinburg.
N.Novgorod-2 recorded a loss in Nizhny Novgorod. Hosts were edged by Khimki-2 73-71. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Andrey Bovduy (200-2005) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds. Bronislav Smirnov contributed with 10 points and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Yaroslav Anikin (198-2005) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for N.Novgorod-2. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Khimki-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. N.Novgorod-2 will play again at home against Khimki-2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Krasnoyarsk. Local Enisey-2 was outscored by Parma-2 96-66 on Saturday night. Ivan Egorov stepped up and scored 18 points, 7 assists and 6 steals for the winners. At the losing side Danil Pekshin responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Parma-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Enisey-2 will play again against Parma-2 and hope to win that game.
In the last game of round 1 Minsk defeated UNICS-2 in a road game 70-64.
UNICS-2 – Minsk 64-70
There was no surprise in Kazan where UNICS-2 was defeated by Minsk 70-64 on Saturday. Minsk forced 19 UNICS-2 turnovers. Danila Semenyuk (194-2006) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and forward Vitaly Duchko (197-2006) chipped in 7 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Magomednabi Khalilulaev (186-2006) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Daniil Dubovoy (187-2006) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Minsk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UNICS-2 will play again against Minsk and hope to win that game.
