This is still too early stage of the Regular Season in ProB and we should expect many changes in upcoming rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Chalons-Reims fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Poitiers (2-2) on the road game in Poitiers 84-74 on Tuesday. Chalons-Reims dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Poitiers‘ 30. 24 personal fouls committed by Poitiers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Guillaume Grotzinger (190-2004) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Hasan Varence (198-1997, college: Ohio Dominican) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Jonathan Jeanne (218-1997) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for Poitiers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chalons-Reims (1-3) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Poitiers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Chalons-Reims is looking forward to face Vichy (#18) at home in the next round. Poitiers will play against Gries-Souffel (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Hyeres-Toulon is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to fourteenth ranked Calvados (2-2) 68-62. Worth to mention a great performance of Haitian-American forward Marc-Eddy Norelia (200-1993, college: FGCU) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 5 rebounds and Yann Siegwarth who added 12 points during the contest. At the losing side point guard Mathis Keita (192-1992, college: IUP) responded with 11 points and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Caen moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams. Hyeres-Toulon at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Chartres. Caen will play against higher ranked Aix-Maurienne (#5) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hyeres-Toulon will play at home against Saint-Chamond (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Bottom-ranked C’Chartres is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to sixteenth ranked Saint Chamond (2-2) 99-75 on Tuesday evening. The winners were led by Jonathan Hoyaux who scored that evening 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 17 points and 4 assists by Duane Wilson did not help to save the game for Chartres. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Saint-Chamond moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted Chartres still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Hyeres-Toulon. Saint-Chamond will meet bottom-ranked Hyeres-Toulon (#20) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Chartres will play against Orleans and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

Other games in round 4 were not that significant. Fos-sur-Mer was smashed by Aix-Maurienne on the road 86-66. Denain-Voltaire lost to undefeated Boulazac on its own court 63-80. Vichy unfortunately lost to Gries-Souffel in a road game 80-87. Nantes lost to undefeated Pau-Lacq-Orthez at home 84-89. Rouen was defeated by Antibes on the opponent’s court 84-92.
The most impressive performance of 4th round was 23 points by Samir Gbetkom of Antibes.



Aix-Maurienne – Fos-sur-Mer 86-66

Everything could happen in Aix-les-Bains at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Aix-Maurienne and 7th ranked Provence Basket had identical 2-1 record.
