Defending champion Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (BSL) is close to land 31-year old American (has also Canadian passport) 208cm center Khem Birch (college: UNLV) for new season who played last time at Basquet Girona in Spain. In 12 Liga Endesa games he averaged 8.8ppg and 5.7rpg last season. Good year as he was voted League Player of the Week. He also played for the Spurs in NBA.
He has been also a member of the Canadian international program for some years. Birch has regularly played for the Canadian senior team since 2016 and previously for the Under 18 National Team back in 2010.
He also represented Canada at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) this year. During this event he scored an average of 3.3 points per game and had 2.5 rebounds per game.
Birch is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Greece (Olympiacos), Spain, NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce and Osceola Magic) and Turkey (Usak).
Among many awards his team made it to the NBA G League Semifinals in 2019. Birch was selected to Eurobasket.com All-World Cup Honorable Mention back in 2019.
He graduated from University of Nevada – Las Vegas in 2014 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. Birch played also for University of Pittsburgh for one year.
