Center Oskaras Pleikys (202-C-01, agency: BIG) put on an amazing game in the last round for Neptunas-Akv., receiving a Hoops Agents NKL Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 20-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Zalgiris II (#8, 3-4) 66-91. Neptunas-Akv. maintains the 14th position in Lithuanian NKL. They are still not able to win a single game in the league yet. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 7 games and recorded no victories. In the team’s last game Pleikys had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Neptunas-Akv.’s top player in his first season with the team. Oskaras Pleikys has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in points (2nd best: 18.3ppg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg and 56.3% FGP.
The second best player in last round’s games was 18-year old Titas Sargiunas (190-PG-03) of Zalgiris II. Sargiunas had a very good evening with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course he led Zalgiris II to another comfortable win outscoring Neptunas-Akv. (#14, 0-7) 91-66. This victory allowed Zalgiris II to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 3-4 record. Sargiunas is one of the most experienced players at Zalgiris II and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was American guard D.J. Hanes (185-G-95, agency: One Motive Sports) of Palanga (#7). Hanes showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, five rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Hanes’ great performance Palanga lost 87-104 to Silute (4-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Palanga needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 4 victories and 3 lost games. Hanes has a great season in Lithuania. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 25.1ppg (best scorer) and assists with 5.1apg (8th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
