Onvo Buyukcekmece Basketbol (BSL) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 35-year old American guard Jermaine Love (191cm-80kg-1989, college: UIS) for season 2024-25. Love played last season at Peristeri in Greek GBL league. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 20 GBL games he recorded 11.5ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg. Love helped them to make it to the semifinals. He also played 13 games in Basketball Champions League where he averaged 10.3ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.9apg. The other team he played that season for was Chalon/Saor in French Betclic ELITE ProA. In 15 games he had 9.5ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.8apg.
Love is quite experienced player. Thanks to Love’s pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America) in seven different countries. He has played previously professionally also in Israel (Hapoel Holon), Italy (Verona), Lithuania (Lietkabelis, Nevezis and Vilniaus), Poland (Trefl), Russia (BC Pari Nizhny Novgorod) and Venezuela (Guaros).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team won Russian Cup in 2023. Love was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian NKL Import Player of the Year back in 2015.
He graduated from University of Illinois at Springfield in 2012 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player. Love played also for Prairie State College for one year.
