Esenler Erokspor (TBL) signed 31-year old American point guard Maurice Watson (178cm-75kg-1993, college: Creighton) for upcoming 2024-25 season. Watson played this summer at Red Rose Thunder (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. In two TBT games just recently he had 8.0ppg, 1.5rpg and 7.5apg. The last season he played at Gaziantep Basketbol in Turkish TBL where in 41 games he recorded very impressive stats: 17.7ppg, 3.5rpg, 11.1apg (leader !!!) and 1.5spg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week (4 times).
Watson is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Belgium (Antwerp Giants), Holland (ZZ Leiden), Israel (Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion), Italy (Forli), Poland (Twarde Pierniki), Romania (Voluntari), Turkey (Gemlik) and The Basketball Tournament (Brotherly Love and Big 5).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team was regular season runner-up in Italian Serie A2 East in 2020. Watson was voted to Eurobasket.com Dutch Eredivisie All-Imports Team back in 2019.
He graduated from Creighton University in 2017 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player. Watson played also for Boston University for 2 years.
