Guard Rafal Wojciechowski (192-G-1985) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Zetkama La Nonna Doral Klodzko, receiving a Hoops Agents 2Liga Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 36-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Stal Ostrow 2 (#13, 5-21) with 18-point margin 101-83. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings in Group D. Klodzko maintains the 9th position in their group in Polish 2Liga. Klodzko is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 12-15 record. In the team’s last game Wojciechowski had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Klodzko, through which he has constantly improved. Rafal Wojciechowski averages this season 17.0ppg, 7.9rpg and 6.4apg.
The second best player in last round’s games was young Bartosz Bal (190-G/F-1989) of Przemysl. Bal had a very good evening with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course he led Przemysl to another comfortable win 110-95 over the higher-ranked Tarn.Gory (#4, 20-8) being unquestionably team leader. Przemysl’s 8th position in Group C has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 16-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Bal is one of the most experienced players at Przemysl and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was guard Karol Nowacki (194-G-1991) of Ogniwo Szcz. (#7). Nowacki showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and six assists in the last round. He was a key player of Ogniwo Szcz., leading his team to a 96-86 win against the lower-ranked Politechnika Gd. (#14, 5-20). The chances of Ogniwo Szcz. ranking at the top of Group A, however are very questionable as they have already lost 13 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Nowacki could help Ogniwo Szcz. to bring them higher in the standings. Nowacki has a great season in Poland. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 12.2rpg (3rd best) and assists with 7.1apg (7th best).
