Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Belgians who are currently playing abroad.
   #1. This week’s number one is former international guard Retin Obasohan (189-1993, college: Alabama, currently plays in Israel). He was the major contributor in a 1-point Hapoel Jerusalem‘s victory against the closely-ranked Bnei Hasharon (11-7) 89-88 in the Israeli Winner League in Monday night’s game.
Obasohan recorded 24 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 36 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it’s only his first season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem (13-6) is placed first in the Winner League.
It was his team’s fourth consecutive victory in a row.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Obasohan has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.3ppg, 4.3rpg, 4.8apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 45.0%, 3FGP: 46.7%(35-75) and FT: 80.7% in 19 games he played so far.
Obasohan has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Nigerian.
He played for the Belgian senior national team year ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center Ismael Bako (208-1995, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). Bako managed to help BAXI Manresa to win against the fourth-ranked Treviso (0-4) crushing them 108-88 in the Basketball Champions League last Thursday.
He recorded 5 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
BAXI Manresa (3-1) is placed second in group J.
It was his team’s third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only two games left until the end of the Basketball Champions League Top 16. So now every game is very crucial.
Bako’s overall stats this season are: 9.3ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.1apg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 58.8%(30-51) and FT: 77.4%.
He played for the Belgian national team in 22.

   #3. The Belgian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international shooting guard Jean Salumu (193-1990, currently plays in France). Salumu could not help Chalons-Reims (1-1) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Chalons-Reims lost 77-86 at home to the lower-ranked (#7) Pau-Lacq-Orthez.
Salumu was the top scorer with 22 points. He also added 3 passes in 34 minutes.
This year Salumu’s overall stats are: 7.0ppg, 1.2rpg, 2FGP: 70.8%(17-24), 3FGP: 22.0% and FT: 78.9% in 13 games.
He played for the Belgian national team year ago.

   #4. Power forward Andy Van Vliet (213-1995, college: William & Mary, currently plays in Israel) faced previously mentioned Retin Obasohan in the Israeli Winner League last game.
Van Vliet was not able to help Bnei Hasharon (11-7) in their last game on Monday. Despite his good performance Bnei Hasharon was edged 89-88 on the road by the leading Hapoel Jerusalem.
Van Vliet recorded 14 points.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important.
Van Vliet has relatively good stats this season: 11.8ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2bpg.

   #5. Former international point guard Ordane Kanda-Kanyinda (186-1996, currently plays in Lithuania) led Mazeikiai to a victory over the fifth-ranked Kretinga (10-28) crushing them 101-47 in the Lithuanian NKL (second division) last Saturday.
Kanda-Kanyinda was MVP of the game. He scored 20 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 30 minutes.
Ereliai Mazeikiai (14-22) is placed third in Places 8-14 group.
There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be extremely important.
This year Kanda-Kanyinda’s total stats are: 8.2ppg, 1.6rpg, 3.4apg and 1.3spg in 10 games.

   #6. Point guard Emmanuel Lecomte (180-1995, college: Baylor, currently plays in Lithuania) was not able to secure a victory for Jonava (10-11) in their game against Zalgiris (4-2) in the Lithuanian LKL. Despite his good performance on Sunday night Lecomte was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 6 assists.
This season Lecomte has very high stats. He averages: 15.6ppg, 2.6rpg and 4.8apg.
Lecomte is a former international player as he played for the Belgian senior team year ago.

   #7. Former international guard Quentin Serron (190-1990, currently plays in France) couldn’t help Boulazac Basket (3-2) in their game against ALM Evreux (11-12) in the French ProB (second division), despite his very good performance in Tuesday night’s game.
He was the second best scorer with 15 points. Serron also added 5 passes in 34 minutes.
But Boulazac Basket lost 69-77 in Evreux to the much lower-ranked (#10) ALM Evreux.
Serron has averaged so far 8.2ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.8apg and 1.3spg in 21 games.

   #8. Small forward Toumani Camara (203-2000, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn’t help the Dayton (14-4) in their game against the University of Richmond (10-8) in the NCAA. Despite his very good performance last Saturday Camara recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks.
Camara’s team will play only one more game in the NCAA Regular Season.
This season Camara has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 6.9rpg and 1.7apg.
He used to play for the Belgian U16 national team
back in 16.
   #9. Former international center Amaury Gorgemans (212-1992, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Melilla‘s victory against the 16th-ranked Prat (8-14) 77-71 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Sunday night’s game.
He recorded 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
Melilla Baloncesto (2-1) is placed second in the LEB Gold.
Gorgemans has averaged so far 9.6ppg and 4.7rpg.

   #10. Power forward Hans Vanwijn (207-1995, agency: Network Sports International, currently plays in Spain) couldn’t help Zaragoza (1-2) in their game against Tenerife (13-8) in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
Vanwijn scored only 4 points in 13 minutes.
Zaragoza lost 62-77 on their home court in Zaragoza to the lower-ranked (#4) Tenerife.
Vanwijn has averaged so far 6.8ppg and 3.0rpg in 22 games.
He is a former international player as years ago he still played for the Belgian senior national team.

   #11. Former international center Khalid Boukichou (208-1992, currently plays in Basketball Africa League) couldn’t help AS Sale in their game against REG in the Basketball Africa League. Despite his good performance on Sunday night Boukichou recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
Boukichou has averaged so far 8.8ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.8apg.

   #12. Former international shooting guard Thomas Akyazili (190-1997, college: Colorado, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to Merkezefendi‘s surprising victory against the fourth-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka 85-83 in the Turkish BSL in Sunday night’s game.
Akyazili scored 5 points in 11 minutes.
Akyazili has averaged so far 3.3ppg and 1.3rpg in 20 games.

back in 21.

   #13. Former U20 international forward Sam Hofman (196-2000, currently studies in the States) contributed to HBU‘s victory against the The University of Incarnate Word 74-64 in the NCAA last Wednesday.
Hofman recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 10 rebounds.
Hofman has averaged so far 8.8ppg and 5.0rpg.
He used to play for the Belgian U20 national team
years ago.

   #14. Former international guard Ajay Mitchell (193-2002, is currently at the American university) couldn’t help the UCSB in their game against the Long Beach State University in the NCAA, despite his good performance on Friday night.
Mitchell scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 37 minutes.
But his team was edged 67-64.
Mitchell has reliable stats this year: 11.6ppg, 2.2rpg and 3.7apg in 27 games.

   #15. An experienced former international power forward Maxime De Zeeuw (206-1987, currently plays in Italy) couldn’t help Brindisi in their game against Brescia in the Italian Serie A. De Zeeuw cannot count Sunday’s game as one of the best ones.
He scored only 2 points.
His team was defeated 88-83.
De Zeeuw has averaged so far 0.7ppg and 1.3rpg.

   #1. Jonathan Dubas (204-PF-1991, currently plays in Switzerland) was the major contributor in a Vevey Riviera‘s victory against the closely-ranked GC Zurich (14-4) crushing them 99-44 in the Swiss NLB (second division) on Saturday night.
Dubas had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added 4 assists in 31 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Vevey Riviera Basket (16-2) is placed first in the NLB.
It was his team’s third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season.
Dubas has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 24.4ppg, 12.9rpg, 3.3apg and 2.8spg in 13 games he played so far.
Dubas has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Swiss.

   #2. Robbe Janssens (190-F/G-2000, agency: Promo Sport ID, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Quintanar‘s victory against the 13th-ranked Guimar (8-11) 62-53 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night’s game.
Janssens scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 17 minutes.
Basket Globalcaja Quintanar (10-14) is placed 11th in Group B.
Janssens has averaged so far 8.3ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.8apg in four games.

   #3. Stan Leemans (203-C-1992, currently plays in Switzerland) managed to help Swiss Central Basket Luzern to win against the closely-ranked Geneve (11-9) 64-59 in the Swiss SBL last Saturday.
He scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Swiss Central Basket Luzern (10-10) is placed fifth in the SBL.
It was his team’s fourth consecutive victory in a row.
Leemans averaged so far 11.3ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.6apg.
He is another player who holds two passports: Belgian and Swiss.

   #4. Alhassan Barrie (196-F-1995, also represented by Promo Sport ID, college: Goshen, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Robbe Janssens and both played together in the last Spanish EBA game.
Barrie contributed to Quintanar‘s victory against the 13th-ranked Guimar (8-11) 62-53.
He scored only 2 points.
Barrie has averaged so far 3.0ppg and 2.0rpg.

   #5. Nicolas Dierynck (190-G-1999, college: Erskine, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Cantbasket‘s victory against the eighth-ranked Ardoi (11-12) 72-68 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) last Saturday.
He scored only one point in 6 minutes on the court.
Cantbasket 04 (16-6) is placed fourth in Group A-A.
It was his team’s fifth consecutive victory in a row.
This year Dierynck averages only 3.4ppg in eight games.
