Diablos Rojos del Mexico (LNBP) is close to signing 21-year-old Mexican international swingman Gael Bonilla (204cm-2003) who last played at Caceres Patrimonio de la Humanidad in Spain. In 33 LEB Gold games, he recorded 7.6ppg, 4.8rpg, and 2.0apg last season.
He has been a member of the Mexican international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Mexican senior team since 2020 and previously for the Under 17 National Team in 2019.
Bonilla also represented Mexico at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (El Salvador) last year.
He has played professionally in Spain, including for FC Barcelona, FC Barcelona Lassa 2nd team, and FC Barcelona, as well as in the NBA G League with Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico.
Despite his young age, he had an impressive career. Bonilla won the Spanish EBA Final Stage Group 1 championship title in 2022. He was voted to the Latinbasket.com All-FIBA Americas U16 Honorable Mention back in 2019.
