Robert Holliday

American Guard Robert Holliday (193-G) had a great game in the last round for Supersonics, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The player was the main contributor (28 points, nine rebounds) to his team’s victory, helping them to beat Telavi (#8, 4-16) 97-90. Supersonics is placed at 7th position in Caucasus Basketball League. Too late to improve their position as they are currently ranked such low. They already lost 14 games and recorded just four victories. In the team’s last game Holliday had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Supersonics, through which he has constantly improved. Robert Holliday averages this season 15.7ppg and 6.5rpg. Worth to mention Holliday played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round’s games was another Supersonics’ star – American David Burton (190-G/F). Burton had a very good evening with a double-double of 10 points and 20 rebounds. Of course Supersonics cruised to a 97-90 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Telavi (#8, 4-16). This victory allowed Supersonics to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 7th position in the standings. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Supersonics managed to get this year. Burton is one of the most experienced players at Supersonics and similarly like Robert Holliday has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Anthony Alston (183-G-1994) of Dvin (#5). Alston showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, five rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Dvin, leading his team to a 81-65 easy win against the lower-ranked Telavi (#8, 4-16). The chances of Dvin ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Alston could help Dvin to bring them higher in the standings. Alston has a great season in Caucasus Basketball League. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in assists with 6.5apg (3rd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
