The Regular Season in European North Basketball League just ended. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Top-ranked Russian Enisey blasted bottom-ranked Latvian ViA (0-6) in Valmiera 82-54 on Tuesday evening keeping the perfect record after 6 rounds. ViA is still unable to win any game. Enisey made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game, while ViA only scored seven points from the stripe. Enisey forced 19 ViA turnovers. Vladislav Trushkin (201-1993, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American Rion Brown (198-1991, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Latvian point guard Janis Kaufmanis (186-1989) with 11 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Enisey have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Enisey went down to third position due to points difference. ViA at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost.
The game in Liepaja supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Czech Brno (5-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Latvian Liepaja (2-3). Brno smashed Liepaja 104-64. Point guard Richard Balint (194-2002) notched 26 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and Danilo Djuricic supported him with 17 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Even 17 points and 5 assists by Latvian Roberts Berzins (193-2001) did not help to save the game for Liepaja. Liepaja’s coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Brno moved-up to second place. Liepaja at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost.
In the last game of round 6 Tartu lost to Brno on the opponent’s court 81-87.

Brno – Tartu 87-81
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Estonian Tartu (3-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Czech Brno (5-2) 87-81. Brno outrebounded Tartu 39-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American guard Rashad Madden (196-1992, college: Arkansas) notched 21 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Hunter Mickelson (208-1992, college: Kansas) supported him with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Brno players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 6 assists by Mart Rosenthal (192-1999) did not help to save the game for Tartu. Latvian point guard Edmunds Elksnis (187-1990) added 18 points and 6 rebounds. Tartu’s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Brno moved-up to second place. Tartu lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with four games lost.

The game in Liepaja supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Czech Brno (5-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Latvian Liepaja (2-3). Brno smashed Liepaja 104-64. Brno dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Liepaja’s 24. They outrebounded Liepaja 50-19 including a 35-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brno shot the lights out from three nailing 18 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Point guard Richard Balint (194-2002) notched 26 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and Canadian forward Danilo Djuricic (203-1999, college: Santa Clara) supported him with 17 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Even 17 points and 5 assists by Latvian Roberts Berzins (193-2001) did not help to save the game for Liepaja. Latvian-Polish Oskars Hlebovickis (196-2000) added 10 points.
