The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams’ position at the end of Regular Season. The round 27 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
KLS top team – Vojvodina (23-4) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eleventh ranked OKK Beograd (10-17) in Novi Sad 91-76. Vojvodina looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by OKK Beograd‘s players. It was a great evening for Montenegrin center Zoran Nikolic (212-1996) who led his team to a victory scoring 7 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Uros Banjac (196-2001) helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Mihailo Petrovic (190-2003) with 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vojvodina have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 23-4 record. OKK Beograd at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Vojvodina are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Zdravlje (#16) in Leskovac in the next round which should be an easy win for them. OKK Beograd will play at home against the league’s second-placed Spartak (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Thirteenth ranked Mladost (9-17) crushed at home 16th ranked Zdravlje (5-22) by 22 points 109-87, which is the biggest margin this round. It was a quality performance for swingman Luka Gasic (195-1998) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Kenny Dye accounted for 12 points and 10 assists. Mladost ZE’s coach Milos Obrenovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Scott Blakney (203-1998, college: Montana) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for Zdravlje in the defeat. Mladost moved-up to twelfth place. Zdravlje at the other side stay dead last with 22 lost games. Mladost will play against Sloga (#14) in Kraljevo in the next round. Zdravlje will play at home against the league’s leader Vojvodina where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 27: Joker won against Dynamic VP on the opponent’s court 98-94. Metalac VL unfortunately lost to Sloboda in a home game 84-95. Cacak 94 recorded a loss to Spartak on the road 96-113. Tamis PN defeated Sloga on its own court 97-84. Radnicki KG was beaten by Vrsac in a road game 94-83. Zlatibor won against Novi Pazar at home 80-72.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Milos Glisic of Zlatibor.
Dynamic VP – Joker S. 94-98
Very expected game in Beograd where 10th ranked Dynamic VP (11-15) was defeated by sixth ranked Joker (15-12) 98-94. Joker made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Dynamic VP was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Rashun Davis (182-1993, college: Radford) who led the winners and scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Lazar Lugic (208-1998) accounted for 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Nenad Nerandzic (203-1996) came up with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Uros Paunovic (193-2003) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for Dynamic VP in the defeat. Four Joker and five Dynamic VP players scored in double figures. Dynamic VP’s coach Nikola Markovic tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Joker moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sloboda. Dynamic VP at the other side keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Joker will play against higher ranked Zlatibor (#4) in Cajetina in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
