Experienced Ignas Juskevicius (200-C-1991) had an amazing evening in the last round for Jurbarkas-Karys and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents NKL Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 32-year old center had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Zalgiris II (#6, 13-14) 78-76. Jurbarkas maintains the 4th position in Lithuanian NKL. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Jurbarkas will need more victories to improve their 15-12 record. It’s Juskevicius’ second year at Jurbarkas and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Juskevicius has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in rebounds (3rd best: 8.6rpg) and averages solid 2.6bpg and 59.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young Ukrainian power forward Yevgen Balaban (203-PF-1996, agency: BIG) of BC Silute. Balaban impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Silute cruised to a 92-81 relatively comfortable win over Delikatesas (12-15). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let’s wait for the next round. Balaban is well-known by Silute fans and he already established his position as one of team’s most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Gediminas Alisas (196-PF-2004, agency: BIG) of BC Rytas Vilnius 2nd team (#12). Alisas scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Alisas’ great performance the Rytas 2 lost 76-97 to Stekas (#8, 14-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Rytas 2 can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 8-19 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Alisas has individually a great season in Lithuania. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 17.3ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 9.2rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.3bpg and a FGP of 63.2%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
