American Joe Bryant Jr. (185-G-2000, agency: BIG) had a very impressive game in the last round for league’s second-best WKS Slask Wroclaw and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents 1Liga Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 23-year old guard had the game-high 35 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Slask 2 in his team’s victory, helping them to edge out Opole (#6, 13-7) 99-97. WKS Slask maintains the 2nd position in Polish 1Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Slask will need more victories to improve their 15-4 record. In the team’s last game Bryant Jr. had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be WKS Slask‘s top player in his first season with the team. Norfolk State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bryant Jr. is league’s best scorer averaging so far 24.8ppg. Bryant Jr. is in league’s top in and averages solid 2.7spg and 59.7% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American power forward Daniel Oladapo (203-PF-2000) of AZS AWF Mickiewicz Romus Katowice. Oladapo impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Mickiewicz lost that game 79-94 to the higher-ranked Polonia W-wa (#14, 7-13). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Katowice keeps 17th position. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Mickiewicz managed to get this year. Oladapo is a newcomer at Katowice and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.
The third best performed player last round was American William Kondrat (203-PF-1999) of MKKS Zak Koszalin (#10). Kondrat scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Zak, leading his team to a 70-66 win against the higher-ranked Bydgoszcz (#4, 14-6). Koszalin needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 8 lost games. Kondrat has a very solid season. In 19 games in Poland he scored 15.6ppg. He also has 6.7rpg and a FGP of 54.5%. Kondrat attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
