Guard Mateusz Bessman (184-G-1999) had a very impressive game in the last round for Pisz, receiving a Hoops Agents 2Liga Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 22-year old player got a double-double of 29 points and 11 assists, while his team edged out Hutnik W-wa (#7, 12-12) 82-80. Pisz maintains the 14th position in their group in Polish 2Liga. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 19 games and recorded just five victories. In the team’s last game Bessman had a remarkable 58.8% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Pisz, through which he has constantly improved. Mateusz Bessman averages this season 16.5ppg, 5.2rpg and 4.6apg.
The second best player in last round’s games was young Mariusz Malachowski (194-SF-1985) of league’s second-best Miedzychod. Malachowski had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Miedzychod was edged by the lower-ranked Ogniwo Szcz. (#7, 10-12) 85-83. Miedzychod managed to keep the same second spot in Group A. His team’s 18-5 record is not bad at all. Malachowski is one of the most experienced players at Miedzychod and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was center Szymon Milczynski (204-C-1993) of league’s top team Rydzyna. Milczynski scored 21 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Rydzyna, leading his team to a 116-73 easy win against the lower-ranked Stal Ostrow 2 (#13, 5-18). Many experts and fans count Rydzyna as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 22 victories and only two lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings in Group D. Milczynski has a great season in Poland. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 12.7rpg (2nd best).
