The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Round 19 games in the Superleague 1 were marked by very close results. The first upset was a home defeat of 4th placed Novosybirsk (12-7) to sixth ranked Irkut (13-6) 82-74. 24 personal fouls committed by Novosybirsk helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Serbian Nikola Miskovic (207-1999) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Kazakhstan point guard Oleg Balashov (185-1999) helped adding 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side swingman Ruslan Tumanov (195-1991, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with 18 points and 4 assists. Irkut moved-up to third place, which they share with Barnaul and Dinamo. Novosybirsk at the other side dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Irkut is looking forward to face Chelbasket (#14) in Chelyabinsk in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Novosybirsk will play on the road against Lok.Kuban (#15) in Krasnodar and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Dinamo (13-6) against fifth ranked Barnaul (13-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Dinamo was defeated by Barnaul in Barnau 89-75. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Dinamo V.. It was an exceptional evening for Danila Chikarev (197-2001) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Alimdzhan Fedyushin accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Daniil Aksenov (183-1995) came up with 15 points for Dinamo in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Barnaul moved-up to third place, which they share with Irkut and Dinamo. Barnaul will play against BARS-RGEU (#13) in Rostov in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dinamo will play at home against the league’s second-placed TSU (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Superleague 1 top team – Khimki (17-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Zenit-2 (9-10) in Saint Petersburg 81-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zenit-2. Fedor Klyuchnikov fired 20 points for the winners. Egor Ryzhov produced 13 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Khimki have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-2 record. Newly promoted Zenit-2 keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Kupol-Rodniki and MBA-2. Khimki will meet at home Kupol-Rodniki (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zenit-2 will play against Tambov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 19: BARS-RGEU lost to Kupol-Rodniki on the opponent’s court 78-79. MBA-2 unfortunately lost to Lok.Kuban in a home game 72-75. Winless Rusichi was rolled over TSU on the road 55-106. Chelbasket was defeated by Tambov on its own court 80-83. Univ.Surgut beat CSKA-2 in a road game 68-62.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points and 9 rebounds by Pavel Zakharov of CSKA-2.



Kupol-Rodniki – BARS-RGEU 79-78

Rather expected game in Izhevsk where 13th ranked BARS-RGEU (7-12) was edged by tenth ranked Kupol-Rodniki (9-10) 79-78 on Friday. Kupol-Rodniki made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Guard Maksim Kiryanov (190-1990) fired 21 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Forward Daniil Karvanen (200-1998) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Kupol-Rodniki players scored in double figures. Kupol-Rodniki’s coach Sergey Chernov used entire bench in such tough game. Alexey Nesterov (205-1988) produced 22 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Maxim Grigoryev (196-1990) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Kupol-Rodniki moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Zenit-2 and MBA-2. BARS-RGEU lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Kupol-Rodniki will meet league’s leader Khimki on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BARS-RGEU will play against Barnaul (#3) and hope to secure a win.

There was a surprise result in Moscow where fifteenth ranked Lok.Kuban (4-15) edged higher ranked MBA-2 (9-10) 75-72 on Friday. Guard Mikhail Vedishchev (189-2004) fired 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Center Valeriy Kalinov (212-1999) chipped in 12 points. Four Lok.Kuban players scored in double figures. Forward Danil Pevnev (203-2000) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and center Vladislav Sharapov (204-1999) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Lok.Kuban maintains fifteenth place with 4-15 record. Newly promoted MBA-2 keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Kupol-Rodniki and Zenit-2. Lok.Kuban will meet at home higher ranked Novosybirsk (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MBA-2 will play against Univ.Surgut and hope to secure a win.

Not a big story in a game in Revda where bottom-ranked Rusichi (0-18) was rolled over by second ranked TSU (14-5) 106-55 on Saturday. TSU dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Rusichi K.‘s 28. TSU forced 20 Rusichi turnovers and outrebounded them 50-22 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. TSU looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Rusichi‘s players. Center Kirill Popov (208-1998) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Nikita Remizov (198-2000) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Four TSU players scored in double figures. Forward Artem Kuzmin (202-1998) produced 10 points and power forward Gennady Denisov (208-2000) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TSU maintains second place with 14-5 record having just three points less than leader Khimki. Loser Rusichi K. still closes the standings. TSU will meet Dinamo (#4) in the next round. Rusichi will play against CSKA-2 (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
