Ethnikos Livadeias (National League 1) landed experienced 39-year old former international 209cm center Loukas Mavrokefalidis. Mavrokefalidis has played for the last two years at Ionikos in GBL. However his team withdrew from the league. In 17 games he was the best scorer with impressive 21.1ppg and recorded 7.6rpg (#4 in the league), 2.9apg and 1.0spg last season. Good year as he was voted League Player of the Week (2 times).
In 2006 he was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in second round (57th overall).
He was a member of Greek international program for some years. Mavrokefalidis was called to Greek Senior National Team between 2010 and 2013 and previously for U21 National Team back in 2005.
He is a very experienced player. Mavrokefalidis has played also professionally in China (Eagles), Italy (RO Virtus), Lithuania (Rytas), Russia (Spartak), Spain (FC Barcelona and Valencia) and Greece (Peristeri, Panathinaikos, Olympiacos, PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki and AEK Athens). His team won Greek Cup in 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2015. He was selected to Eurobasket.com Greek A1 League All-Domestic Players Team back in 2006 and 2016.
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Ethnikos Livadeias.

Excellent feel for the center position .. A good rebounder and great moves around the basket .. Can play back to the rim or facing the basket with the same efficiency ..
Lacks great athletic ability .. Not a huge leaper or tremendous foot speed ..
