Umana Reyer Venezia (Serie A) added to their roster 26-year old Canadian power forward Mfiondu Kabengele (207cm-113kg-1997, college: FSU). Kabengele already started the season at AEK Athens in Greek GBL league. In 6 games he recorded 14.0ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.2bpg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week. He also played 4 games in Basketball Champions League where he averaged 10.5ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.0spg and 1.5bpg.
In 2019 he was drafted by Brooklyn Nets (NBA) in first round (27th overall). The former Florida State University standout is in his fifth season in pro basketball.
Kabengele is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in USA, NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, LA Clippers and Sacramento Kings), NBA G League (RGV Vipers, Maine Celtics and Ontario Clippers) and NBA Summer League (Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers). His team made it to the NBA Semifinals in 2023. Kabengele was voted to USBasket.com NBA G League All-Defensive Team in 2023.
