Defending champion B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (LKL) added to their roster 32-year old American guard Austin Hollins (195cm-84kg-1991, college: Minnesota). Hollins played last season at M.Tel-Aviv in Israeli Winner League. But in 19 Euroleague games he recorded just 1.8ppg and 1.3rpg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals.
The previous (2021-22) season he played at KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Beograd in Serbian KLS. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In four Serbian KLS games he averaged 11.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 1.8apg and 1.0spg in that year. Hollins contributed to his team winning the league title. Quite impressive season as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Serbian League Play-Off Honorable Mention. He also played 28 games in Euroleague where he had 8.1ppg, 1.9rpg, 1.0apg and 1.0spg (in top 3) in that year. Hollins also played 30 games in ABA League where he got 9.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 1.0apg and 1.5spg (in top 3) in that year.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
Hollins is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Finland (Karhubasket), France (Denain Voltaire), Germany (46ers and Rasta Vechta), Russia (Zenit) and NBA Summer League (Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was selected Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga Defensive Player of the Year back in 2019.
Hollins graduated from University of Minnesota in 2014 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player.
