Anthony Edwards never fails to produce funny moments, and his latest comments involve a former New York Yankees star.
Edwards’ relationship with Timberwolves co-owner Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez got off to an interesting start when the young star said publicly he had no idea who Rodriguez was.
Times have changed, however, and Edwards is more than comfortable around the team’s prominent new co-owner. He might even be too comfortable around the former MLB great, according to a story recently told by Craig Kilborn to Timberwolves reporter Dane Moore.
“A-Rod is getting a relationship with Anthony Edwards,” Kilborn said. “You know, the famous thing. Ant didn’t know who he was, and now they’re friends. … So, then Ant got comfortable with him. He called over A-Rod and said, ‘I gotta ask you something, how did you screw up J-Lo?’ He did. That’s who Ant is, right? Isn’t that funny?”

It’s unknown whether Rodriquez took Ant’s question in good spirits, but it seems likely considering their close relationship.
Either way, this tale serves as yet another illustration of Edwards’ lighthearted disposition, as he often finds humour in life’s twists and turns.
In 2021, Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez split, a decision that followed the postponement of their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Lopez has tied the knot with Ben Affleck.
Rodriguez, meanwhile, has been involved with the Timberwolves since April 2021, when it was announced he and businessman Marc Lore would gradually assume majority ownership of the franchise from Glen Taylor over a two-year period.
Subsequently, on July 21 2021, it was confirmed that Lore and Rodriguez had acquired a 20 per cent stake in the team. Their ownership stake was slated to increase by an additional 20 per cent in 2022 and a further 40 per cent in 2023.
