The Los Angeles Lakers have rallied somewhat after a poor start to the season. Now, things are about to get a lot more difficult for the Lakers.
Anthony Davis will be out indefinitely due to a right foot injury. Early reports are that Davis will miss at least one month due to the injury.
Davis was hurt when he landed awkwardly during the Lakers victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night. Davis left the game, returned briefly but was ineffective and wasn’t moving well. He then missed the second half of that game and was ruled out for Sunday’s game a day in advance.
Davis has played some of the best basketball of his career this season. He’s averaged 27.4 points and a career-best 12.1 rebounds per game. Davis has also keyed the Los Angeles defense.
The Lakers currently sit at 12-16 and are in 12th place in the Western Conference. Los Angeles is 1.5 games behind the Minnesota Timberwolves for 10th place and the final spot in the Play-In Tournament.
