Andy Katz lists MSU in top 10 of initial ‘Power 36’ rankings for 2023-24 season


Michigan State basketball is a fringe top five team entering next year in the eyes of college basketball analyst Andy Katz.

Katz — who works for the Big Ten Network and NCAA.com — released his initial “Power 36” rankings for the 2023-24 season, and he has Michigan State near the top. The Spartans come in at No. 6 on Katz’s rankings.

Michigan State was the highest-ranked team from the Big Ten at No. 6. Other teams from the conference that were listed are Purdue at No. 8, Ohio State at No. 17, Maryland at No. 23 and Northwestern at No. 28.
