Germany’s impressive shooting accuracy and dominance in securing offensive rebounds proved to be overwhelming for Team USA in the 2023 FIBA World Cup semifinals.
Germany pulled off a stunning upset, defeating the U.S. with a final score of 113-111 on Friday, earning a spot in the Finals where they will compete against Serbia for the gold medal on Sunday.
The standout performer of the match was Andreas Obst, who contributed significantly with 24 points and six assists for Germany.
“I am super happy. We put a lot of work into this. We are ready for the next opponent,” Obst said after the game.
Even though Andreas Obst seemed to be a well-known target according to the scouting reports, Team USA couldn’t effectively counter his impact on the game.
“I know my strengths. I figured that I was on the scouting reports. I can shoot, I can drive. I can create space.”
