Amazon has joined Apple and Verizon with interest in buying a minority stake in ESPN.
All three companies would help ESPN in developing a full direct-to-consumer version of the media entity.
Last month, Iger said Disney is open to selling part of ESPN to a strategic partner, as the company is “dealing head-on with some of our biggest challenges,” including accelerating decline in linear reach.
The network is considering charging between $20 and $35 per month for the direct-to-consumer version.
The NBA has its current media rights deals with ESPN and Turner expire in 2025.
