KK Split (Premijer Liga) agreed terms with 32-year old American point guard Adam Smith (185cm-77kg-1992, college: Georgia Tech). Smith joins another USA player Shannon Shorter who is already in the roster.
He has played for the last two seasons at Surne Bilbao Basket in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 30 games he had 10.7ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.7apg last season. He also played 16 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 11.0ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.7apg and 1.1spg. He helped them to make it to the FIBA Europe Cup Semifinals.
Smith is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in France (Chalon/Saor), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki and Ionikos), Israel (Hapoel Holon), Italy (Roseto, Orlandina, Ravenna and Orzinuovi), Poland (Zastal) and Turkey (Petkimspor and Merkezefendi). he was also voted AJC’s Southside Player of the Year back in 2010 and 2011.
Smith won Israeli Premier League championship title in 2022.
He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2016 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player. Smith played for other colleges like: Virginia Tech University, University of North Carolina Wilmington.
