The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Khimki. Third ranked host Khimki (19-8) defeated one of their biggest challengers Zenit-2 (17-10) 91-78. They outrebounded Zenit-2 45-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Khimki looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Fedor Klyuchnikov (193-1990) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and center Kirill Popov (208-1998) who added 11 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Khimki’s coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Maksim Karvanen (204-1999) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Khimki maintains third position with 19-8 record having just two points less than leader TSU. Zenit-2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Novosybirsk. Khimki are looking forward to face Dinamo (#13) in Grozny in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bottom-ranked Tambov managed to get a ninth victory, breaking the three-game losing streak. This time they outleveled thirteenth-ranked BARS-RGEU in Rostov 102-76. It’s especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 26-point difference proves that Tambov was well-prepared to that game. The winners were led by point guard Serdar Annaev (186-1994) who scored that evening 14 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and Robert Pan supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by power forward Maxim Krivosheev (207-1988) did not help to save the game for BARS-RGEU. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tambov (9-18) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Metallurg MGN and Dinamo. BARS-RGEU lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Lok.Kuban. Tambov will play against bottom-ranked Lok.Kuban (#16) in Krasnodar in the next round. BARS-RGEU will play at home against the league’s second-placed CSKA-2 having rather not much hope for a victory.
