Boulazac dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Poitiers‘ 20. 27 personal fouls committed by Poitiers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Louis Cassier (205-1997) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Angelo Warner (188-1992, college: Morehead St.) contributed with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Canadian guard Jahvon Blair (193-1998, college: Georgetown) answered with 16 points for Poitiers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boulazac maintains first place with 19-6 record. Poitiers at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Caen and Saint-Chamond. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gries-Souffel have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 15-10 record, which they share with Aix-Maurienne. Roanne at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Gries-Souffel will play against higher ranked Blois (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Roanne will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Chalons-Reims maintains fifteenth place with 10-15 record, which they share with Nantes. Loser Denain Voltaire dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Rouen. Chalons-Reims will meet at home higher ranked Poitiers (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Denain-Voltaire will play against Evreux and hope to secure a win.

The most impressive performance of 25th round was 10 points and 7 rebounds by Mounir Bernaoui of Caen.


Saint-Chamond – Nantes 86-90

There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Nantes (10-15) beat on the road higher ranked Saint Chamond (13-12) 90-86 on Friday. Nantes made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Nantes outrebounded Saint-Chamond 43-26 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American-Nigerian Bryce Nze (202-1998, college: Butler, agency: Worldwide SM) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and American guard Kyle Riddley (192-1996, college: Pfeiffer) accounted for 19 points and 5 assists. Jonathan Hoyaux (195-1988) came up with 15 points and American point guard Marquis Jackson (183-1994, college: Ohio Christian) added 10 points respectively for Saint-Chamond in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saint Chamond’s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Nantes have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Chalons-Reims.
