The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Round 26 ended with 3 very close games. The first one was a victory of Cayirova over 5th ranked Cagdas BS 81-80 on Saturday night. Cayirova dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Bodrum‘s 24. American point guard Diante Watkins (175-1990, college: RMU, agency: BIG) saved the victory by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import center Jamari Traylor (203-1992, college: Kansas) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Cayirova’s coach Engin Gencoglu used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Chris Warren (177-1988, college: Ole Miss) replied with 20 points and 8 assists for Bodrum. Cayirova (15-11) moved-up to fifth place. Cagdas BS at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Gaziantep. Cayirova are looking forward to face Kapakli Spor (#17) in Tekirdag in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cagdas BS will play at home against Ormanspor (#15) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Trabzonspor (20-6) against fourth ranked Ankaragucu (16-9) on Thursday night. Visiting Trabzonspor was defeated by Ankaragucu in Ankara 95-85. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ankaragucu maintains fourth position with 16-9 record. Newly promoted Trabzonspor keeps the second place with six games lost. Ankaragucu will play against bottom-ranked Anka Spor (#18) in Istanbul in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Trabzonspor will play at home against the league’s leader Erokspor (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
TBL top team – Erokspor (21-5) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat seventeenth ranked Kapakli Spor (8-18) in Istanbul 84-66. Metehan Akyel notched 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds by Bahadir Simsek did not help to save the game for Kapakli Spor. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Erokspor have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-5 record. Loser Kapakli Spor keeps the seventeenth place with 18 games lost. Erokspor will meet league’s second-placed Trabzonspor on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kapakli Spor will play against Cayirova (#5) and hope to secure a win.

Trabzonspor smashed Anka Spor in a home game 124-72. Ormanspor lost to Fenerbahce 2 on the road 69-72. Bordo outscored Kapakli Spor on its own court 96-59.


TED Ankara – Ankaragucu 70-78

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Ankaragucu (16-9) beat on the road 9th ranked TED Ankara (13-13) 78-70 on Tuesday. American point guard Marlain Veal (175-1996, college: SE Louisiana) notched 30 points and 8 assists to lead the effort and Hakan Yapar (202-1984) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Ankaragucu’s coach Hakan Koktas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) by Senegalese center Abdoulaye Gueye (206-1994, college: Georgia Tech) did not help to save the game for TED Ankara.
