Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TSU maintains first position with 18-5 record, which they share with CSKA-2. BARS-RGEU lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Dinamo. TSU is looking forward to face Lok.Kuban (#12) in Krasnodar in the next round which should be an easy win for them. BARS-RGEU will play at home against Kupol-Rodniki and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
The game in Novosibirsk was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Dinamo (14-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Novosybirsk (14-9). Novosybirsk defeated Dinamo 84-73. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Ivan Strebkov (193-1991) with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Novosybirsk have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Dinamo. Dinamo lost fourth consecutive game. Novosybirsk will play against Irkut (#8) in Irkutsk in the next round. Dinamo will play on the road against Barnaul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Zenit-2 (15-8) and Tambov (8-15), which took place in Saint Petersburg. Higher ranked Zenit-2 lost at home to thirteenth ranked Tambov 68-85 on Wednesday. The winners were led by Denis Vikentsyev who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds by Pavel Zemskiy did not help to save the game for Zenit-2. Zenit-2’s coach Oliver Popovic rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win.
