It’s still too early stage of the Second Stage in NBL, but even now we can clearly see the difference between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An exciting game was played in Nymburk. Nymburk faced Usti n/Labem. Host Nymburk (23-2) defeated guests from Usti nad Labem (16-9) 89-79. Nymburk looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was international forward Matej Svoboda (200-1996, college: Dayton, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Martin Kriz (200-1993) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Nymburk’s coach Francesco Tabellini used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Josef Potocek (197-1996) who recorded 25 points and 5 rebounds. Nymburk are looking forward to face Decin (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Usti n/Labem will play against Opava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Pardubice. NH Ostrava (8-17) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Pardubice (8-16) 83-81 in the game for the eighth place. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for guard LaQuincy Rideau (185-1996, college: S.Florida) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Lamb Autrey contributed with 17 points for the winners. Guard Maliek White (190-1998, college: Providence) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 assists for Pardubice. NH Ostrava will play against Slavia (#9) in Praha in the next round. Pardubice will play at home against J.Hradec and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Opava. Local Opava (16-9) outscored USK Praha (8-17) 99-70 on Thursday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Simon Pursl who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Dejan Bruce with 18 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Opava will meet Usti n/Labem (#4) in the next round. USK Praha will play against Srsni Pisek (#2) and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 3 Olomoucko was defeated by Decin in a road game 89-71. Slavia smashed J.Hradec at home 88-68.
The best stats of 3rd round was 17 points and 7 rebounds by David Pekarek of J.Hradec.


Opava – USK Praha 99-70

The game with biggest result difference took place in Opava. Local Opava (16-9) outscored USK Praha (8-17) 99-70 on Thursday night. Opava forced 19 USK Praha turnovers and outrebounded them 37-20 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Opava looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by USK Praha‘s players. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international center Simon Pursl (205-1997) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Jakub Sirina (186-1987, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 9 points and 12 assists. Four Opava players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was German Dejan Bruce (206-2002) with 18 points and guard Matyas Jezek (197-2005) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Opava will meet Usti n/Labem (#4) in the next round. USK Praha will play against Srsni Pisek (#2) and hope to secure a win.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Olomoucko‘s (12-13) road loss to Decin (14-11) 71-89 on Wednesday. Decin dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Olomoucko‘s 26. Decin looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American-Nigerian point guard Omotayo Ogundiran (180-1996, college: CPP) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 assists. American point guard AJ Walton (188-1990, college: Baylor, agency: Diamond Sports) helped adding 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Trey Wertz (196-1999, college: Notre Dame) with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard John-Michael Wright (185-2001, college: OK State) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Decin will meet Nymburk on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olomoucko will play against Brno (#3) and hope to secure a win.
