Jamaican-Canadian Kadre Gray (186-G-1997) had a great game in the last round for CS Valcea 1924 Rm Valcea and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 27-year old guard had the game-high 50 points adding seven rebounds and seven assists for Valcea in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Rapid (#6, 12-7) 122-114. Valcea maintains the 4th position in Romanian Liga Nationala. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Valcea will need more victories to improve their 13-5 record. In the team’s last game Gray had a remarkable 56.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Valcea‘s top player in his first season with the team. Laurentian University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gray is in league’s top in points (2nd best: 21.3ppg), assists (5th best: 5.8apg) and averages solid 57.3% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American guard Jarred Godfrey (196-G-2000) of CSM Steaua Bucuresti. Godfrey impressed basketball fans with 41 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Steaua to edge the lower-ranked Constanta (#15, 3-16) by 2 points 90-88. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Steaua keeps 11th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 7-11 record. Godfrey is one of the most experienced players at Steaua and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.
The third best performed player last round was Serbian Mladen Armus (208-F-1997, agency: 011 Sports) of CS Rapid Bucuresti (#6). Armus scored 24 points and grabbed 22 rebounds (!!!). Despite Armus’ great performance the Rapid lost 114-122 to slightly higher-ranked Valcea (#4, 13-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Rapid needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 12 victories and 7 lost games. Armus has a great season in Romania. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (2nd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
