The long rumored Zach LaVine has been moved to the Kings in a multi-team that sends De’Aaron Fox to the Spurs and NBA fans have a lot to say about it.
Of course, it was Shams Charania that dropped the news and outlined the full trade details:
Spurs: De’Aaron Fox, Jordan McLaughlin
Kings: Zach LaVine, Sidy Cissoko, three first round picks (2025 CHA, 2027 SAS, 2031 MIN), three second round picks (2025 CHI, 2028 DEN, 2028 own back)
Bulls: Zach Collins, Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter, their own 2025 pick via SAS
San Antonio was rumored to be Fox’s preferred destination, so it looks as thought he got his wish.
“The Kings view Malik Monk as their new primary initiator after dealing De’Aaron Fox,” Evan Sidery says.
NBA fans on X are reacting to the news, whilst still in shock from one of the wildest NBA trades in history.

After landing Fox, the Spurs still have eight remaining firsts (six of their own, two from the Hawks) and swaps for four separate firsts. They remain loaded to go out and make more big trades. https://t.co/hF9PpXpSiI

The Bulls got such a terrible return for Zach LaVine. Horrific. Don’t care how overpaid he is, he’s have an excellent year once again. Elite shooter, dynamic shot-creator with All-Star caliber numbers. Besides the year he missed 57 games he’s been great in 4 of the last 5 years.

Darnell Mayberry says:
“The Bulls continue to work through multiple scenarios as Thursday’s trade deadline approaches, I’m told.
“Starting center Nikola Vučević is a natural candidate to be traded, but he remains a highly respected and valued player within the organization.”
Another Athletic reporer John Hollinger says that “The Bulls will generate a $26 million trade exemption for LaVine by taking Huerter into the existing exception from the DeRozan trade with Sacramento, and by taking Tre Jones into their unused non-taxpayer midlevel exception.”
