The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Palma BM (10-2) in S’Arenal on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Palma Fibwi (8-5) 58-54. Huelva CD maintains third place with 8-5 record having just two points less than leader Palma BM, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Cordoba CB dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Huelva CD will play against Zornotza (#13) in Amorebieta-Echano in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cordoba CB will play on the road against Clavijo (#12) in Logrono and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Tarragona (0-12) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to second ranked Lliria (10-2) 93-82 on Saturday evening. Douglas Kandulu fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners. David Kristensen produced 19 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Algeciras was beaten by Caja 87 on its own court 57-66. Caceres won against Huesca in a road game 85-76.
