Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will miss multiple weeks of action due to a right ankle sprain. The promising point guard suffered the injury during OKC’s 113-110 loss to the Indiana Pacers in OT.
The news were reported by ESPN’s insider Adrian Wojnarowski. In 43 games this season, he’s averaged 22.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per contest, shooting 42% from the floor.
The Thunder have the second-worst record in the NBA at 14-34, but SGA remains their best option in offense. OKC is 0-5 in games that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander doesn’t play this season.
Without Gilgeous-Alexander, expect guards Theo Maledon and Ty Jerome are expected to receive more play time until the Thunder’s guard return to action.
