In 23 games to start the 2024-25 season, the Warriors are 14-9. The team is 4-6 in their last 10 and is coming off a 114-106 win vs. the Timberwolves. Against Minnesota, Steph Curry’s 30 points led Golden State. Curry is in his 16th professional season and is 36 years old. The four-time NBA champion is still playing at an extremely high level.
With 30 points on Sunday, Curry now has (37) 30-point games since turning 35. That is the most by any guard in NBA history including Michael Jordan. The 10-time all-star is still Golden State’s best player and he’s doing what he can each night to help the team win. At 14-9, the Warriors are fifth in the Western Conference.

This offseason, the Warriors’ big three of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green was broken up. Thompson left in free agency for the Mavericks. Curry and Green are still together in Golden State but they are not comparable at this point in their career. The Warriors are prepared to start having Green come off the bench to let younger players have an opportunity to grow. Steph Curry leads the team with (23.0) points per game in 2024-25. That is his lowest total for a full season since 2012-13. The two-time MVP is not the same player he was five years ago, but Curry is still the key to Golden State’s success.
After his (23.0) points per game, the next closest is Andrew Wiggins at (17.2). Gone are the days when Golden State had two players averaging 20+ points per game on a nightly basis. On Sunday night, Curry had 30 points in a win vs. the Timberwolves. With another 30-point performance, Curry now has (37) 30-point games after turning 35. That is the most by any guard in NBA history. At this stage in the Warriors’ dynasty, they need Curry to play well to win. The team has a mix of veteran talent and young players who are still trying to find their footing in the NBA. Golden State’s next game is Wednesday on the road vs. the Rockets.
