27-year old American point guard Ben Shungu (188-PG-1997) had a great game in the last round for Fenerbahce Koleji Istanbul team and receives a Hoops Agents TBL Player of the Week award for round 14.
He had a double-double of 44 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Cagdas BS (#11, 6-7) 119-112. Fenerbahce is placed at 8th position in Turkish TBL. Fenerbahce 2 is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team’s last game Shungu had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Fenerbahce‘s top player in his first season with the team. Ben Shungu averages this season 16.9ppg and 5.7apg.
Second best performed player last round was Tyrece Radford (188-G-1999) of Final Spor Genclik Bursa. He is American guard in his first season at Final Spor. In the last game Radford recorded an impressive double-double of 40 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Final Spor to edge the higher-ranked Cayirova (#3, 9-4) by 5 points 89-84. This victory allowed Final Spor to move up to 9th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Radford is a newcomer at Final Spor and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Chris Warren (177-PG-1988) of Cagdas Bodrum Spor (#11). Warren got into 30-points club by scoring 40 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds and eight assists. Despite Warren’s great performance the Bodrum lost 112-119 to the higher-ranked Fenerbahce 2 (#8, 7-7). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Cagdas BS ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Warren could help Cagdas BS to bring them higher in the standings. Warren has a great season in Turkey. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 25.2ppg (2nd best). He also has a FGP of 59.8% and 3PT: 44.1%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
